BOLD believes that black womxn will change the world! In this year alone we have seen the ways black womxn are using their voices to inspire, empower, and shift culture. One of our values is contributing creatively to the telling of our stories and this year we are excited to announce the return of our ten minute play fest in partnership with New Professional Theatre. Six new works, three nights, all written by black womxn.
This year’s theme is “2020” and we are looking to highlight those who are continuing to write with urgency in light of and/or in response to the systemic silencing of our voices.
If you feel that this is you, please submit either a complete 10-minute play or a 10-minute excerpt by July 8th, 2020.
If your piece is selected, you will be notified no later than July 15th, and you may refine and make changes to your piece between then and August 1st. A virtual reading of your piece will be rehearsed and read by actors during the festival, which will be well publicized and include industry professionals from partners of BOLD.
